The Trip So Far

The Plane Trip(s)

Well all up the traveling part wasn't so bad. Getting to the Sydney International early I found out that my flight was cancelled. People I talked to who had been flying their whole lives had never experienced that before, I guess life just sucks like that. After waiting around for a goodwhile it was finally reorganised in a not optimal way. My flight changed from

Sydney -> San Fransisco -> Toronto with minimal stopover time, to

Sydney -> Aukland - > Las Angeles -> with a 8 -9 hour stopover in Las Angeles, a horrid airport with not much going for it.

The flights did turn out alright though. To Aukland I flew economy as planned but with Air New Zealand which was an upgrade to personal t.v screens though a downgrade with service (apparently, but questionably). I sat with a Geneologist from a California university who was pretty interesting. There was no one inbetween us either so that was pretty awesome and comfortable.

Landing at Aukland

The cloudscapes were amazing, it's like you could sow a seed right down into it.

The flight to L.A. was awesome. Because of lack of seeting I got upgraded to Premium Economy. I got hot towls and all kinds of food and drinks. They all had awesome Kiwi accents, and the flight manager even came and sat next to me (I had 3 seats to myself) and sympathised with my aweful stop-over time.

On the way to Toronto the flight was pretty sub par. Air Canada has too much french going on. It's not a good feeling you get when you're tired as hell and you've just sat through a 5 minute safety procedure talk through to have the flight attendent take a deep breath and have a torrent of quick french smack you in your tired ears. On the plus side I sat with a wicked kid from L.A. and we talked for like 2 hours about the cultural differences between the two countries. I was stuck in between 2 people though so when he went to sleep the next 3 hours were pretty lame.
